The Edda Accessory Guide: Which is right for you?

Plush + Oak salon beds are renowned for their superior design, offering artists and clients alike a blend of comfort and functionality. However, depending on personal artist and client comfort preferences - accessories may offer additional adjustability to your bed to ensure that it meets the requirements for each artist. Read below to find out what each accessory is, and who is the most likely to use it.

1. Plush Pillow

The Plush Pillow is a must-have accessory for artists performing treatments that are over 75 minutes. While our salon beds feature ergonomic anti-gravity curves for optimal body support, the headrest area may require additional cushioning, as it is designed firmer to allow artists to place service supplies beside the client's heads to avoid twisting and reaching from a cart beside the bed. Our low-profile memory foam pillow is specifically designed for Edda and Brynn beds, to cradle the head and neck, alleviating a single point of client head contact, and ensuring hours of relaxation. However, it's important to note that using the pillow alone can throw off the curvature of the bed and give the client's head a forward tilt. We recommend pairing the pillow with a bolster if it is neccessary to have the client's head completely flat (such as eyelash services, or PMU).

Pros: Provides exceptional comfort and support, alleviating pressure points during extended appointments of 75+ minutes.

Cons: May not be suitable for extremely short clients without additional support.

2. Edda Bolster Pillow

The Edda Bolster Pillow is our top choice for client positioning versatility and can be used alone without a Plush pillow. While not the most commonly used accessory, it is invaluable for artists who prioritize precise head placement, particularly in services like PMU, lashes, and brows. With clients of every size using Plush + Oak beds, achieving consistent head positioning can be challenging. The Edda Bolster acts as a "booster seat," allowing artists to adjust clients' positioning as needed by lifting and bringing them closer to the headrest. This ensures optimal comfort and alignment during treatments.

Pros: Enables precise client positioning, accommodating different body types and service needs. Alleviates any "tilt" issues of client heads so they can easily lay with their heads level.

Cons: Not essential for every client or artist, considered more of a "good to have" accessory for shorter clientele.

3. Protective Covers

Protective covers are essential for maintaining the pristine condition of your Plush + Oak Edda bed. These covers protect the main bed from spills, or accidentals which commonly happen at the headrest area. We offer two options: the Headrest Protection Wrap and the Full Bed Cover, each serving different purposes depending on your level of preference in protection.

  • Headrest Protection Wrap: Designed to seamlessly blend with your bed's aesthetics, the Headrest Protection Wrap shields the headrest area from artist spills, such as lash adhesive or brow tint. Headrest wrap covers are made in the same material as your bed, and are invisible to anyone viewing your bed. Headrest protection wraps only protect the headrest area.

  • Full Bed Cover: Ideal for comprehensive protection, the Full Bed Cover envelops both the headrest of Plush + Oak beds and the entire body. This safeguards against everything from muddy boots to jean dye transfer (which is easily cleanable anyways... view our MATERIAL CARE guide). Full bed covers come in a clear vinyl only which show the curvature and flutes under the bed. While it may detract slightly from the bed's aesthetic appeal, it streamlines cleaning and gives artists peace of mind.

Accessorizing your Plush + Oak Edda bed not only enhances comfort and functionality but gives artists the ability to rest easy knowing their investment is protected. Whether you choose just a plush pillow, a plush pillow and bolster combo (most recommended), or to use the bed alone and get a protective wrap... our accessories enable artists to custom create their perfect fit and build of their salon bed unit to suit their preferences.
